Circular Indiana continues to lead the charge in driving circular economy
solutions across the state, evolving from its roots as the Indiana efficiency
Recycling Coalition into a forward-thinking organization focused on effective
resource utilization. With a strong emphasis on education, policy and
collaborative action, the organization has worked to expand its outreach and
impact—hosting regional workshops, supporting community-based infrastructure,
and amplifying the voices of Indiana’s growing circular economy stakeholders.
One of Circular Indiana’s signature efforts this year has been the planning of the
Circular Indiana Conference, set for this fall in Indianapolis. This highly
anticipated event will bring together industry professionals, municipal leaders,
innovators, and advocates to explore topics ranging from reuse, repair and
recycle networks to extended producer responsibility and circular product design.
The conference aims to highlight scalable models, foster cross-sector
partnerships and promote public-private collaboration—making it a must-attend
gathering for anyone working to close the loop in Indiana and beyond.
Circular Indiana also proudly renewed its affiliate status with the National
Recycling Coalition (NRC) this year, reaffirming its commitment to national
collaboration and shared learning. The decision to renew was a strategic
one—allowing the organization to stay connected to policy updates, thought
leadership and emerging trends across the U.S., while also giving Indiana’s
circular economy champions a stronger voice on the national stage.
The organization’s board of directors—composed of leaders in sustainability,
solid waste management and business—has played a crucial role in shaping this
strategic direction. Their commitment to inclusive leadership and innovation has
positioned Circular Indiana as a respected voice in both state and national
conversations.
As Circular Indiana continues to build momentum, it remains committed to
empowering individuals, communities and institutions to rethink waste and
embrace circular systems. With the Circular Indiana Conference on the horizon,
renewed ties to NRC and growing national engagement, the organization is well-
positioned to amplify its impact and support a just, resilient and regenerative
future.
2025 Circular Indiana Conference will be held on September 8th!
